I can do all this through him who gives me strength. Philippians 4:13 NIV
Have you ever said the following things to yourself? “Ugh! I am such a failure!” “I can’t do anything right. I’m such a loser.” Do these statements and questions sound familiar to you? I can relate. I really can. I spent a good portion of my life beating myself up for not being perfect. If I got an A- and not an A+ in school, I deemed myself a failure. I was not valedictorian of my high school class, so I saw myself as a complete flop. I did not get the raise that I thought I earned, so I stamped “failure” on my forehead. Oh my goodness, I drained myself for so many years trying to be perfect.
Sisters, I have good news for all of us. The Word of God tells us that we are God’s children, and we are NOT failures. Here are some verses to remind of us of this:
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. 2 Corinthians 5:17 ESV
But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. 1 Peter 2:9 ESV
There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Romans 8:1 ESV
Friends, we are new creations in Christ. We are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for His own possession. There is no condemnation for us because we are in Christ. There is no way that we are failures. What sweet words to tuck away today!
So when you get down on yourself, remember how much Christ loves you. You are beautiful. You are His. Be blessed today!
It is very easy in our rush-rush, multi-tasking society to feel like we don’t measure up. Don’t buy into that lie. Instead, focus on what God says about you. He loves you more than you can imagine.
Heavenly Father, You are amazing! Please give me and all of Your daughters peace and knowledge that we are not failures. We are Your children. We love You so dearly! In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
