“I pray that your partnership with us in the faith may be effective in deepening your understanding of every good thing we share for the sake of Christ.”
Paul had an interesting way of praying for people. Consider this prayer above, praying for a guy named Philemon who helped to start a church in his own home, wealthy, and passionate about the people of God. Paul gives away an interesting insight. The more you talk and share with others about your relationship with Christ, the more you realize what you have in Him. God chooses to reveal Himself as we choose to reveal Him to others. Paul makes it clear that our insight concerning God is made full only when we are opening up that relationship to those outside of the faith.
Think about 5 things that you have right now in your life as a result of your relationship with Christ. Jot those down below: Example: I can lay my head down on my pillow each and every night and head right off to sleep because I know God has totally forgiven me -- my sense of guilt is completely gone before God and men.
Now, with each of the benefits you’ve written down, think of one person in your life who should hear that fact and would benefit most from it. Write their name down beside that benefit and pray that God opens a door to share that truth with them.
For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God.
For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.
