Ephesians 4:32
“Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.”
Be sure and read ALL of Ephesians 4 before reading more here!
The WHOLE chapter is about “one another.” We could soak here for at least a week! But look at how Paul sums up all of these thoughts… be kind, compassionate, forgiving. Obviously, chapter 4 comes well after chapters 1-3! Can you see how the ability to have community and relationship with others is ONLY founded on the work of Christ first?
Think about times when you are “ugly” or “unkind” to others; what is your “state of mind & heart” when you are unkind?
Do a word study on “compassionate” from Ephesians 4:32 (www.biblehub.com) and report your finding below.
What does Paul charge us to consider when we find ourselves in an ugly, dull, cold-hearted and unforgiving state toward other believers?
But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called “Today,” so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness.
A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.
