Today’s Special is: How to Live Free in Christ
Carefully prepared just for you by your friend, Lara Sadowski
It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.
Galatians 5:1 NIV
Greetings my friends! I am so excited to share a little bit of me with you today as I know the Lord will use it for good.
I spent many years of my life in bondage to clinical depression and anorexia nervosa. From the time I was a child until I was in my late twenties, I knew pain intimately. I began to feel sadness at a very young age, and that led me into a decade long battle with anorexia nervosa. There were many times that I begged God to take my life. I could not take the anguish any longer. Thankfully, He did not. How about you? Have you felt you were being held captive to a life of depression, abuse, addiction? I understand, sister. Oh, how I understand. And we worship a God who understands, too.
The Lord met me in the midst of my messy, painful life and saved me. Was my recovery easy? No. My therapy was hard. I had to unearth a great deal of memories that I tried to bury but God walked with me every step of the way. And He still does.
Let me encourage you from the bottom of my heart, sisters that you do not have to be held prisoner to your past. You can be set free… free in Christ. Ask Him to heal you and walk with you. I promise you that He will. Everyday. Guaranteed.
Ask the Lord to wrap His loving arms around you and deliver you from your past and pain. He is waiting to hear from you. He loves you more than I can express in words.
Heavenly Father, there are so many of Your daughters who are in bondage to depression, addiction, and abuse. Please heal them and restore them. Help them to see that they are whole, beautiful and free in You. We need You so much, Father. Set us free. In Jesus’ Precious Name, Amen.
