Today’s Special is: He Did It Then and He’ll Do It Again
Carefully prepared just for you by your friend, Carolyn Dale Newell
Main Ingredient:

So the Lord gave to Israel all the land of which He had sworn to give to their fathers, and they took possession of it and dwelt in it.

Joshua 21:43 NKJV

Entrée:

The children of Israel had finally reached and conquered the Promised Land.  When descendants were promised to Abraham and Sarah, it seemed impossible since Sarah was barren.  The Lord opened Sarah’s womb and she bore the promised son.

Jacob and his family of 70 moved to Egypt during the famine.  The Israelites multiplied greatly, but they were forced into slavery and suffered much.  God raised up Moses to deliver them out of Egypt to the Promised Land.

During their 40 year journey in the wilderness, they saw many miracles.  They watched the Red Sea part and they crossed over on dry ground.  They ate manna from heaven.  They saw the walls of Jericho fall.  They witnessed the sun standing still.  God fought for them and delivered them from their enemies.

God will also fulfill His promises to Christians in the church age.  Promises such as: to provide our needs, to grant sufficient grace, to guard our hearts and minds with peace and to not give us any burden which we cannot bear.  God has promised to forgive, cleanse and give us eternal life.

We have assurance that God is faithful to fulfill His promises.  When the road gets rough, reflect on what He did for the children of Israel, what He has already done for you and what He will do next.  We serve a mighty God!

Take Out:

Do you trust in the promises of God today?  Start a promise journal.  As you read through your Bible, note the references which are promises.  Refer to it on a regular basis, refreshing your knowledge of the many promises God has given us.  As you pray, reflect upon His promises.  You will learn about promises that you were not aware of and your faith will become stronger.

Dessert:

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for Your many promises.  Help us to remember that You never break a promise, even when we are unfaithful.  In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Dear sisters in The Lord,
I am pretty much a shut in right now because my husband is very sick. I found your website two days ago. Thank you, thank you. I pray The Lord blesses you and your families for giving of your time and talent for being there for us. Please pray for my husband, Dave. He needs a heart valve replacement very soon. I just let my daughters, daughter-in-law and very good friend know about you. I met you two days ago at the cafe. Love, Grace
