Faith Is Knowing That God Will

Café Menu for Monday, August 10, 2015
Today’s Special is Give Us Faith to Believe
Carefully prepared just for you by your friend, Kelly Brown
Main Ingredient:

That is why we never give up.  Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day.  For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long.  Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever!  So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen.  For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.

2 Corinthians 4:16-18 NLT

Faith is defined in the dictionary as “complete trust or confidence in someone or something.”

Defined in God’s Word,

Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see.

Hebrews 11:1 NLT

Faith is not believing that God can – it's knowing that He will.

How can we have faith when life comes at us and we don't know how we will make it through the day?

How can we have faith when we feel like we are dying inside from the hurt and the pain?

The answer is with Jesus… He can restore us and renew our spirit if we will fix our gaze on Him… the One who heals.

We can be assured and know that He is there through His Word.  We can choose to believe that He can, and He will, be with us… even when we can't feel Him.

God works in our lives and He gives us His strength… to move mountains otherwise unmovable.  He has moved mountains many times in my life.  When I trust Him, He is faithful.

Take Out:

When life throws you the unexpected, have faith and believe that God is ready to walk with you, hand in hand.  Seek Him, believe He can, and have the faith that He hears and answers your prayers.  Have faith, complete trust and confidence in the One who gave His life for you.

Dear Lord, I pray that as we walk through this life filled with uncertainty and hardships, that we will look to You with confidence.  Knowing that You are with us renewing our Spirit, changing our heart, and guiding us in the path you have for us.  Give us faith to believe anything is possible with You.  In your precious and holy name, Amen.

Linda I am praying for you.  I understand you are feeling weary and discouraged, but God promises He will be with us through the valleys.  When we feel we can't face another mountain, His promises remind us that He will climb those mountians with us.

My husband and I recently went to Mount Mitchell and hiked 2 miles to the top and at one point I wondered if I would make it.  The song kept going through my mind...

This could be the final mountain you will have to climb... Be not weary on the journey for the precious hand of God will lead you home.

So thankful from the reminder that no matter how many mountains I have to climb a celebration will be waiting on the other side, and no matter how many mountains you have to climb He will be with you too.  His promises are true!  When you get too weary and feel like you can't climb one more mountain He will carry you.  He loves you that much!!  Prayers for you Linda

Life has become so difficult.  It's one problem after another.  It seems like we solve one problem, then five more pop up.  It is my faith that helps me deal with it all.  But I am getting tired.  All I can do is pray for strength and courage to make it through each day.  I know the Lord hears my cries.
