Today’s Special is: Making the Choice to Die to Yourself Daily
Carefully prepared just for you by your friend, Savannah Parvu
I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
Galatians 2:20 NIV
Every day that I wake up I have to make the decision to die. I don’t make the decision to physically die, but to die to myself, my wants and my desires.
Making the decision to not to live for you isn’t always easy. It can be a very difficult thing to do sometimes because we are all humans and our flesh gets in the way. As we continue to grow in our walk with the Lord and seek His face, we will see that dying to ourselves will bring us closer and closer to Him.
Our Scripture today tells us that when we surrender our lives to the Lord, we become crucified with Him and that we no longer live, but He lives in us. That means that we no longer live for ourselves. We live for Him and Him alone. We live to do His work, so that His WILL may be done in and through us.
Evaluate your daily life.
Are you dying to yourself and allowing the Lord to work in and through you?
Dear God, I am so thankful that You have chosen to love us. You have chosen to love us even when we had nothing to do with You. Help us to remember that dying to ourselves and living for You is a daily tasks. Thank You for using it as an opportunity to bring us closer to You in the process. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
